Thanks! I think Twitter will always have bigger fish to fry - which is why
a service like ours can always attack it faster than they will. Twitter's
not an anti-virus company. I think we can be that.

Your anti-malware filter for Twiiter is an idea of genius! My only question is why on earth didn't Twitter come out with this feature first? That is crazy.

This looks like a great service. I have other Twitter management services, but the ability to filter out DM's and only get the ones that are true direct messages to me is a godsend. Up until now, I had given up on ever using DM's for communication; reverting to @reply which, of course, goes to everyone. So in addition to filtering out harmful and phishing DM's, the use of the filter will get my inbox down to a managable size again.

Done. Somehow I feel like using Twitter again!! Great app.

If I see or hear of any keywords or anybody who is malicious or even mostly harmless, I will be sure to forward their Twitter ID's over asap.

Barnaby, be sure to sign up for the DM e-mails and use those to replace how
you're currently getting DMs. Then be sure to report any spammers that come
in place, and add new keywords as you see repeat offenders. The more people
that do this, the more effective it will be. Also, we'll be watching behind
the scenes and for those that are malicious we'll definitely be removing
them before you ever see them.

I have had relentless spam DM's sent to me recently from Twitter since registration a month ago - only genuine people being able to DM me will be great.

Many thanks for this detailed presentation and for this opportunity offered. I saw here few complaints about DM`s, but I can`t see what someone might expect from this place flooded by spam and not so easy to monitorize after a large number of followers.

I wrote this because a direct reply it`s more easy to verify for an entire day or more, even some don`t use other helpful tools for their Twitter account. In each profile you can click on your username and it`s simple to verify all replies, RT`s or mentions.

Each of us has his own opinion about DM, some people would like this option, but I think here are many other useful services to use. All the best for you!

Ben, currently it only goes to your feed. The reason for that is that if we
post to your status it will also send a duplicate post to your feed. With
the Facebook API there is no way to turn off that second feed update. I've
submitted a bug with Facebook and am awaiting their response. We do update
the status of Pages though, and I'm brainstorming a few other ideas that may
allow that to work.

jesse thanks for the cool app. but i wonder if i'm doing something wrong. i fill out my new status on my profile pg on fb then click on the socialtoo icon, choose my twitter acct and hit publish. the new status goes on my wall, feed and on twitter, but does not change the status at the top of my profile. it still reads the previous status. is this a bug? i have to post it again to get it up there. (i've already done this)

Andrew, yes, it will double post. Unfortunately we can't control that -
it's something the app developers of the Twitter to Facebook app need to
account for before posting to Facebook. You may try something like
tweetpo.st to filter your Twitter messages that go to Facebook so only those
marked with #fb show up on Facebook. That would fix your problem.

If you're already updating Facebook via Twitter, and you add this app, will this app cause a double update on Facebook? (In other words, if I use Socialtoo to update my Twitter, will the Twitter in turn update my Facebook page, causing duplication?

Thanks so much. The timing of this is so strange, though, because just a few hours ago a note popped up on my Facebook Fan page telling me that I could now connect it to my Twitter account. It works great, so I'm all set with the FB app, but still, yours is very cool and would be a nice addition for folks, too because it works a little bit differently and is more flexible for folks with multiple accounts.

Evan, that's moved over to the SocialToo Status page. Just go to
http://apps.socialtoo.com/socialtoo/status, and the link to give
authorization to your Pages should be on that page (including screenshots).
I'll fix that link.

I really like this app. I'm sure it'll be useful on a number of fronts. My question is whether it is possible to post FROM a FB page one administers. I know I can post from my personal profile to my "fan" page and from my personal profile to any Twitter account I own, but can I publish FROM the fan page to Twitter?

Wis, you can change your Twitter account by going to SocialToo.com, logging
in via Facebook, and going to your Preferences tab. Then, next to your
Twitter username you'll see the option to associate another Twitter account
with your SocialToo account.
